Olshan Welcomes Anthony B. Crawford as New Insurance Coverage Law Practice Chair

NEW YORK, October 16, 2025 – Olshan Frome Wolosky LLP is pleased to announce that Anthony B. Crawford has joined the firm as Insurance Coverage Law Practice Chair. With over 13 years of experience managing high-profile insurance cases for policyholders in state and federal courts, mediations and arbitrations, Crawford has secured more than $100 million in settlements and judgments for a diverse client base. Prior to his legal career, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps for almost 12 years as a helicopter pilot and held several positions specializing in project management and operations training.

Crawford spent his entire legal career at Reed Smith LLP before joining Olshan, where he was a partner in the Insurance Recovery Group. He handles litigation and domestic and international arbitrations for policyholders, developing effective solutions to complex insurance coverage disputes and property insurance appraisals. Crawford has counseled a broad range of clients, including transportation industry clients, private equity entities, manufacturers, banking and financial institutions, and religious organizations, on matters spanning policy review, coverage analysis, and dispute resolution. Well-versed in the nuances of a diverse array of insurance policies such as commercial general liability, cyber, directors and officers, errors and omissions, product recall, builders’ risk, and commercial property policies, Crawford brings extensive experience litigating in state and federal courts. He has also represented clients in mediations, domestic and international arbitrations, and property insurance appraisals, consistently advocating for policyholders in contentious, high-stakes coverage matters.

During his military service, Crawford’s efforts focused on aviation safety, maintenance, project management and operational management. Crawford spent time in California, Pennsylvania, Japan, Kuwait and Iraq, safeguarding operational efforts for $400 million in assets, implementing training plans, and managing teams, while also putting his life on the line during combat missions as a helicopter pilot.

In 2024, Crawford was honored to be selected as a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) fellow. Crawford received his law degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he holds a Certificate in Business Economics and Public Policy from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He continues to serve the academic community by guest lecturing at Columbia University Business School on the legal implications of using artificial intelligence.
