Olshan Frome Wolosky LLP today announced that it has signed a fifteen year lease at 1325 Avenue of the Americas for 50,000 square feet of space on the fifteenth and sixteenth floors. Olshan plans to move in the first quarter of 2016 from its current location at 65 East 55th Street where the firm has resided for twelve years.

“We’re excited about creating a new law firm office model that’s efficient, innovative and collegial and reflects the spirit of creativity and collaboration at Olshan,” said Nina Roket, co-administrative partner at Olshan. “We carefully weighed many factors in making a decision, and this space highlights our commitment to long term growth and our expanding client base in key areas, including Corporate (Securities, Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions) and Real Estate,” she continued.

Olshan’s anticipated design is trend setting in the legal industry, with “one size fits all” lawyer offices, a revolutionary concept that breaks down spatial hierarchal boundaries, creating a more collaborative environment.  In addition, Olshan is bucking the law firm downsizing trend in planning for the future, allowing for additional growth.

“This move underscores our long-term dedication to clients as Olshan continues to thrive, expand and secure our future and continued prosperity,” said Steven Gursky, co-administrative partner at Olshan. "This new home will take us into the next exciting chapter in Olshan’s distinguished history,” he said.

Olshan has been consistently recognized as one of the premier mid-sized law firms in the country, and was selected as the only mid-sized firm in New York to have achieved a Tier 1 ranking by US News-Best Lawyers in Securities and Capital Markets, as well as a Tier 1 ranking in Real Estate in New York,  Known for its cutting-edge practices and creative approach to problem solving, The Wall Street Journal in conjunction with FactSet SharkRepellent, named Olshan’s Activist & Equity Investment Group the No. 1 legal advisor to activist investors in 2014.

Olshan is a highly regarded presence in the New York legal market, and this move puts them in the forefront. The newly defined accommodations will allow the firm to expand significantly beyond its existing headcount through the life of its new lease by maximizing square footage utilization compared to its existing space. This efficiency will be a natural fit with Olshan’s interactive atmosphere and will work as a tremendous advantage to clients. As Olshan’s attorneys work closely with each other and in teams to find solutions for clients, having a space that reflects those needs will enhance the firm’s productivity and synergy.

With a prestigious location on “Corporate Row,” 1325 Avenue of the Americas is a 34-story, 814,892 square foot building with a modern infrastructure and dramatic lobby situated in one of the most conveniently located office corridors in Manhattan.  The building is central to many of Olshan’s longstanding clients as well as to its lawyers and staff.  Robert Yaffa and Wayne Van Aiken of DTZ acted as leasing agent on behalf of Olshan and JLL represented the landlord.
