Olshan Client Summer Road Achieves Overwhelming Victory in Proxy Contest at Ingles Markets

Grocery Dive, Progressive Grocer, Supermarket News, Business North Carolina and other media outlets reported on the results of Ingles Markets’ 2026 annual meeting, where Olshan client Summer Road received overwhelming support from shareholders in its proxy campaign for change at Ingles Markets. Summer Road’s director nominee – Rory A. Held, who serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Summer Road – was resoundingly elected to Ingles’ board of directors with support from nearly 62% of the shares outstanding, which represented over 71% of the total votes cast. Summer Road also won the support of Institutional Shareholder Services, Glass Lewis and Egan Jones in a rare case of unanimity among the proxy advisors. Vice Chair of Olshan’s Shareholder Activism Practice Group Ryan Nebel led the team that represented Summer Road, which included Dorothy Sluszka, Joseph Ferrone and Joshua Becker.
