November 3, 2014 – Olshan Frome Wolosky LLP today announced that it has been ranked “Tier 1” in the New York City Metropolitan area for Securities and Capital Markets and Real Estate Law by U.S. News-Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms” 2015, and has been ranked “Tier 2” Nationally for both the Securities and Capital Markets and Real Estate practices.

Steve Wolosky, chair of Olshan’s Activist & Equity Investment practice and co-chair of the Corporate/Securities Law practice noted that, “It’s very gratifying to be named to this prestigious list as a Tier 1 firm by our clients and peers, as we consistently strive to deliver high quality, responsive and value driven work to our clients.” Mr. Wolosky continued, “Our Corporate/Securities Law practice has worked on a number of significant matters this year including Quinpario’s Acquisition of Jason Inc. for $538 million, representation of Alleghany Corporation in its $300 million public offering, and most recently, representation of activist client Starboard in a historic, headline grabbing replacement of the  entire Darden Restaurant board, and it’s clear that clients are increasingly bringing their most sophisticated and complex work to Olshan.”

“We’re honored to be acknowledged as a Tier 1 firm in these practices, along with many larger New York and national law firms that we routinely sit with at the deal table, further validating our increasingly strong position in these markets,” said Thomas D. Kearns a partner in Olshan’s Real Estate Law practice.  “We’ve attracted significant local and national attention around many of our real estate deals this year, including representation of Columbus Development in its Turnstyle project at Columbus Circle, numerous high-profile deals that we’ve handled for clients in Miami, including properties on world famous Lincoln Road, and representation of the purchaser of the iconic Mobil building in one of the biggest financing deals of 2014,” Mr. Kearns concluded.

This is the latest in a series of honors and recognitions that Olshan has recently received, including the selection of forty-five attorneys to Super Lawyers 2014, naming of three attorneys to The Best Lawyers in America 2015, the selection of two partners as “leading lawyers” in Chambers USA 2014, acknowledgement by Fact Set Shark Repellent, Reuters and Activist Insight of Olshan’s position as a leading Activist practice nationwide and selection by Corporate Counsel magazine as one of the "2013 Go-To Law Firms®" for Fortune 500 Companies in Intellectual Property Litigation.
