Crain’s New York Business (subscription required) has named partners Nina Roket, Lori Marks-Esterman and Elizabeth Gonzalez-Sussman to its 2022 list of “Notable Diverse Leaders in Law.” The 80 individuals named to Crain's 2022 “Notable Diverse Leaders in Law” are recognized for their impact in New York through their cases, clients, pro bono work and DEI initiatives. Nina, Lori and Elizabeth are veterans to Crain’s listings, having been named to the “Notable Women in Law” list several times. They were profiled as follows:

Roket, Co-Administrative partner and leader of the commercial leasing practice, closes leases, acquisitions and financings while she develops new businesses. With her experience in real estate and business, she works with a diverse roster of clients, leading national and global financing platforms in office, retail and bio-manufacturing spaces. She is the founder and chair of the firm’s women’s committee and mentors female lawyers; she also mentors in the Urban Land Institute Mentorship Program; and is a member of WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate. She is committed to advancing principles of diversity and inclusion as head of the hiring committee.

Marks-Esterman, Chair of Olshan’s Litigation practice group, is the firm’s youngest person and only woman to lead a practice group. She has directed the firm’s litigation practice to significant and high-stakes cases in New York’s courts and other influential jurisdictions, and has herself led many trial teams to important victories. She is involved with her firm’s committees for women and for diversity and inclusion; in addition, she works with larger organizations for women in finance and law, and has focused on improving the involvement of women and minorities in law, while mentoring women attorneys on executive leadership responsibilities, client obligations and family demands. Lori has also been recognized as a Leading Lawyer by Chambers USA and is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America.

Gonzalez-Sussman, a partner in the shareholder activism and corporate practice groups and Head of ESG Activist Investing, is on the women’s committee and the diversity committee and organizes networking groups that connect women in finance and law. In addition, she speaks and writes on ESG issues; the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, a high-profile online blog, has published her work. She has been acknowledged by Chambers USA and the Legal 500. She is on the board of directors of the Columbia Law School Association, where she assists with alumni initiatives and fundraising.
