Shareholder activism is expected to hit the ground running in 2019, carrying over the momentum from an action-packed year with an emphasis on challenging announced transactions and targeting companies outside of the U.S.  Freedman noted that “Activists were looked at for many years as the raiders, the barbarians at the gate.
