Olshan’s Representation of Stilwell Activist Investments in Silvergate Chapter 11 Wins M&A Advisor Turnaround Award for Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year

Olshan represented Stilwell Activist Investments, LP in the Chapter 11 case of Silvergate Capital Corp., which won the M&A Advisor’s 20th Annual Turnaround Award for Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year (Over $5B Category). Olshan assisted Stilwell in successfully obtaining a seat on the Silvergate board of directors after the Chapter 11 filing date and thereafter in connection with a motion for an examiner, which ultimately led to the successful renegotiation of the Chapter 11 plan of reorganization. The confirmed Chapter 11 plan was amended from the original version of the plan that extinguished public equity holders’ interests to an amended plan that allowed common equity holders to continue to retain 100% ownership of the reorganized company. The Olshan team included Thomas Fleming, Adam Friedman, Meagan Reda, Jacqueline Ma and Dean Oswald. The award will be presented at the 2026 Distressed Investing Summit on March 23–24, 2026.
