Olshan Wins Fraud Trial on Behalf of Client Signature Apparel Against Iconix Brand Group and Christopher Laurita

Firm News

Law360 reported on the recent 95 page decision (read here) issued by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York after a three week trial in the Signature Apparel bankruptcy case, in which Olshan represents the estate’s trustee. The Court issued its decision against Iconix, a publicly-traded company with $1.7 billion in assets, and Signature’s former principal Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Chris Laurita in a complete and total win for our client on virtually all liability theories. The Court specifically found and entered judgment against Iconix finding that it had committed fraud, aided and abetted Christopher Laurita's breach of fiduciary duty to Signature, made misrepresentations, and tortiously interfered with Signature's property rights.  A separate hearing will be held to determine damages. The Olshan team includes litigation attorney Kyle Bisceglie and bankruptcy attorneys Michael Fox and Jonathan Koevary.
