The National Law Journal Names Olshan to 2016 Midsize Hot List

Firm News

Olshan has been designated by The National Law Journal as one of the top 20 midsize law firms in the U.S., on NLJ’s "2016 Midsize Hot List." NLJ says the 20 firms “have held their own, often against much larger firms, charting winning courses in high-stakes matters that led to key victories in 2015.”  NLJ specifically noted Olshan as the "right size" firm, continuing to carve a niche as the "go to" firm for many of Wall Street's successful shareholder activists, lead by Steve Wolosky and Andrew Freedman. Steve and Andy devised an "out-of-the-box" activist strategy for client H Partners Management LLC to unseat three targeted directors of Tempur Sealy International Inc. The firm handled "exponentially more [activist campaigns] than anybody else” in 2015 —Also mentioned were Kyle Bisceglie and Andrew Lustigman noting the dismissal of all trademark and related state law claims by Lions Gate Entertainment Inc. against their clients, Havas Worldwide and TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. Additionally Kyle Bisceglie and Steven Gursky continue to prevail in decadeslong trademark litigation between its client, the U.S. Polo Association, and Ralph Lauren. Finally, the article talks about Thomas Kearns as he took the lead in Madison Equities LLC's $260 million acquisition and financing of the "crown jewel" of the Ring real estate portfolio in New York.
