Fleming Successfully Defends NBA Player Against Lawsuit

Olshan Litigation attorney Thomas J. Fleming successfully defended Bismack Biyombo, a NBA player, and defeated claims by his former Spanish agent, Igor Crespo, on commissions based on Mr. Biyombo’s professional basketball contracts. The New York Supreme Court ruled in favor of Mr. Biyombo and dismissed Mr. Crespo’s claims based on the ground that the National Labor Relations Act ("NLRA") made the National Basketball Players Association (“NBPA”) the exclusive representative for union members and that Mr. Crespo was not officially registered.
