Law360 Reports on Adrienne Ward as Volunteer 2020 Election Poll Watcher

Firm News

Law360 (subscription required) reported that Olshan partner Adrienne Ward served as a poll watcher in Staten Island for the 2020 Presidential Election. She joined countless lawyers across the country who volunteered as poll workers and hotline call recipients, as well as litigators ready to file emergency petitions, to ensure a fair electoral process. Ms. Ward, a longtime volunteer of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council and leader of Olshan’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, remarked that sound poll site management and organization led to few if any complications: “Boring is good. The goal is for the job to be really boring.” Still, in one of the most contentious, decisive elections in living memory, she reminds that “the real place is the intake table, where people are logging in the voters, that's what you really want to observe, because that's where things like challenges can take place.” Despite any misgivings, though, she confirms that ballots under her watch were successfully cast: “But I didn't see anyone having a lack of success in voting.”
