Times Covers Olshan Client Korein Family's Air Rights for the Landmarked Lever Building

The New York Times reported today that the Bloomberg administration’s latest proposal to revise the Midtown East zoning will allow historic landmarks like Lever House, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and St. Bartholomew’s Church to sell and transfer their unused development rights to other property owners in the district. The Lever House is a glass-box skyscraper built in the International style and completed in 1952. It was the second curtain wall skyscraper in New York City after the United Nations Secretariat Building and was designated a New York City landmark in 1982 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Olshan Partner Sam Ross, who negotiated Lever House’s ground lease for the Korein Family, is joined by Olshan Of Counsel Hyman Kindler in the representation of the Korein family regarding the available air rights for Lever House.
