Karpus Wins Proxy Fight at Madison Strategic Sector Premium Fund

Olshan client Karpus Investment Management announced that it was successful in its proxy campaign to block the proposed merger of Madison Strategic Sector Premium Fund (MSP) with and into Madison Covered Call & Equity Strategy Fund (MCN).  In addition, Karpus’ two nominees were elected to the Board of Directors of MSP at the Annual Meeting and shareholders approved the proposal authorizing a self-tender offer for all outstanding common shares of MSP at or close to net asset value.  Olshan represented Karpus Investment Management in connection with its investment and successful proxy solicitation at MSP and MCN.
