Gursky Comments on YSL and Louboutin Battle Over Red Shoe

Steve Gursky was interviewed by Luxury Daily after an appeals court ruled that Yves Saint Laurent can continue to manufacture its monochrome red shoe, but Louboutin would still own its red-sole trademark when used on shoes of contrasting color.  However, the trial court still needs to decide if the counterclaim filed by YSL will strip Louboutin of its trademark altogether. Gursky explains why this battle may have been unnecessary and more trouble than it was worth.
