Freedman Quoted in Wall Street Journal About Starboard’s Upcoming Proxy Contest at Darden Restaurants

Firm News

Olshan Partner Andrew Freedman was quoted by the Wall Street Journal for his views on Activist client Starboard’s upcoming proxy contest at Darden Restaurants and the recent rise in contests for a majority of board seats at public companies. Freedman noted in the article that minority board representation would not be adequate to achieve the change Starboard seeks. He says, “There are always going to be outliers, and those outliers are going to be ripe for judgment.” Also mentioned in the article is Starboard’s successful contest last year for a majority of Tessera Technologies Inc.’s board of directors. Steve Wolosky and Andrew Freedman represent Starboard in its activist campaigns.
