As a member of Olshan’s Litigation Group, Samantha Haquia supports clients by analyzing evidence, drafting affidavits and motions, and performing legal research.
At Rutgers Law School, Samantha gained practical experience in trial preparation, motion practice and legal research through diverse roles. As a Student Attorney in Rutgers Law School’s Housing Justice & Tenant Solidarity Clinic, Samantha represented tenants in active eviction proceedings before the New Jersey Superior Court, Special Civil Part, where she managed all aspects of pretrial and trial-stage litigation, including drafting and filing motions, negotiating settlements, corresponding with opposing counsel and preparing clients and cases for trial. Samantha also served as a Judicial Intern to The Honorable Gregory H. Woods in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and The Honorable Thomas W. Sumners, Jr. in the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. In both roles, she drafted judicial opinions and orders, prepared bench memoranda, and observed civil and criminal proceedings, gaining critical insight into courtroom dynamics and judicial decision-making. Samantha is a talented legal writer and meticulous researcher, skills she honed while serving as a Teaching Associate in Rutgers Law School’s Legal Analysis and Writing Skills Program.
Before law school, Samantha worked as a Guardian ad Litem Investigator at the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C., where she supported litigation on behalf of children in abuse and neglect cases by conducting investigations, interviewing witnesses and helping attorneys manage high-volume caseloads. She also served as a Traffic Safety and Supervision Intern at the D.C. Pretrial Services Agency where she assisted Pretrial Services Officers by conducting defendant interviews and evaluations and facilitating court appearances. Lastly, Samantha served as a Victims of Crime Compensation Intern in the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General where she summarized police reports and wrote claim synopses.
Samantha was a summer associate at Olshan in 2024 before joining the firm full-time.
