Olshan Represents Kayan, LLC in Sale of Denver Post Building for $88.5M

In a complex and time-sensitive transaction, Olshan client Kayan, LLC successfully completed the sale of its property located at 101 West Colfax Street, Denver, Colorado, to The City of Denver, which was a subtenant occupying part of the building under a sublease from the master tenant, The Denver Post. As reported in Denverite and other local Denver news journals (Denver Business Journal 1/17/24 and 2/28/24), the building will be used for the City courts. The transaction required that all stars were aligned, including the Denver Post amending its lease, the beneficiary of the deed of trust accepting a structured pay-out and the City Council approving the transaction and its funding.  Co-Chair of Olshan’s Real Estate Law Practice Eric Goldberg led the Olshan team that represented Kayan, LLC in this transaction, which also included: Real Estate: Melody Schor, law clerk Cameron Klein and paralegal Vanessa Rodriguez; and Tax: Warren Gleicher and K.C.
