Rachel L. Ross

An associate in Olshan’s Litigation Group, Rachel Ross focuses on financial services litigation and other types of commercial litigation cases.

Rachel has significant experience representing financial institutions and investors in corporate governance matters and regarding securities regulations in litigation and both internal and government-instituted corporate investigations. She plays a critical role in representing clients in federal and state court cases handling many aspects of cases from depositions, interrogatories and pretrial motions to coordinating trial logistics and drafting appellate briefs.

Combining creativity with practicality, Rachel works toward crafting solutions using litigation as a tool to help clients achieve their immediate objectives while advancing their ultimate goals.

Before she joined Olshan, Rachel was a litigation associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. While attending Columbia Law School, she worked as a legal intern at the New York State Division of Human Rights, Office of Sexual Harassment Issues.

  • Represented a closely held corporation in an employment action. Managed all aspects of discovery including taking and second-chairing depositions, drafting and responding to interrogatories, and drafting discovery motions.
  • Represented a publicly traded business development company in litigation arising from a proxy contest. Participated in a Delaware preliminary injunction hearing, including second-chairing a deposition of an expert witness, drafting an offensive federal securities fraud complaint, and supervising a team of contract document reviewers.
  • Represented a closely held corporation in a complex multijurisdictional dispute with McKinsey & Company. Drafted cross-examination outlines, prepared demonstratives for trial, and coordinated trial logistics.
  • Represented Assured Guaranty in the debt restructuring of Puerto Rico, including researching and drafting discovery and pretrial motions, preparing deposition outlines for multiple fact and expert witnesses, and drafting appellate briefs.
  • Represented multiple individual employees of a financial institution in an internal investigation related to the use of personal devices for workplace communications.
