Udell Assists in Claims Against Assemblyman Vito Lopez

Firm News

The New York Times reported that the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) and a special prosecutor, Daniel M. Donovan, Jr., who is also the Staten Island District Attorney, concluded investigations surrounding allegations of sexual harassment against State Assemblyman Vito Lopez brought by several staff members, and the efforts of the Assembly leadership to keep the allegations confidential.  The Assembly deliberately failed to investigate and to refer the initial allegations to its own ethics committee, JCOPE found.  Olshan partner Jeff Udell acted as co-counsel to two of the complaining witnesses against Lopez.
