Mr. Sadowski is engaged in commercial litigation practice with emphasis on fraud, health care, tax, accounting, civil rights, insurance, administrative law, and environmental matters.

Mr. Sadowski was selected as a Super Lawyer by the publisher of Law and Politics Magazine for 2008.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sadowski was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York for 14 years, where he supervised civil health care fraud prosecutions. He has litigated numerous health care fraud prosecutions under the federal False Claims Act involving physician practice groups, hospitals, laboratories, billing companies and nursing homes for defrauding Medicare and Medicaid in connection with cost reports, false billings, quality of care, kickbacks, drug diversions, and misbranding and adulteration of pharmaceuticals. He also handled matters involving federal grant fraud and federal housing fraud. He handled property insurance litigation arising from the terrorist attacks of September 11, particularly addressing liability and insurance coverage issues stemming from environmental contamination and remediation. Mr. Sadowski also handled the litigation and mediation involving the insurance coverage for property damage resulting from the volcanic eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines that destroyed the United States Naval base for which he was awarded the 2005 Attorney General's John Marshall Award for Outstanding Achievement in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has handled numerous civil rights prosecutions and is an expert in the Americans with Disabilities Act, having litigated accessibility issues involving stadiums, major sports franchises, and several Broadway theaters for which he was awarded the 2004 Attorney General's John Marshall Award for Outstanding Achievement in Litigation.


REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
United States v. EngenderHealth, prosecution of not-for-profit organization for failing to account for foreign aid from the United States Agency for International Development.

U.S. Gypsum v. Muszynski, litigated the denial of a dumping permit preventing PCB contaminated silt dredged from the Hudson River from being dumped off the New Jersey shore.

Gillespie v. United States, litigated the valuation of a block of Washington Post stock establishing the method used to determine the blockage discount for estate tax purposes.

Greene v. United States, a case of first impression, involving three appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, successfully establishing the federal income tax repercussions of charitable donations of commodity futures contracts.

United States v. American International Group, litigated the breach of contract action involving the property insurance issued to the United States Navy Exchange Command insuring all of its world wide facilities.

United States Postal Service v. Factory Mutual Ins. Co., litigated the breach of contract action involving the property insurance claims for environmental damage and costs of remediation and business interruption resulting from the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.

United States v. The Shubert Organization, Inc, a civil rights case brought under the Americans With Disabilities Act to remedy discrimination against individuals with disabilities at 16 landmarked Broadway theatres.

United States v. New York Yankees and the City of New York, the first litigation brought by the Department of Justice against a professional sports franchise under the Americans With Disabilities Act.

United States v. Unidos Management Co., prosecution of the former managing agent of a low income housing project involving equity skimming and the misuse of housing projects' funds in violation of the National Housing Act.
