Ms. Heil practices in the areas of securities litigation, complex insurance coverage litigation, merger and acquisition litigation, general commercial litigation, and white collar criminal defense.

Prior to joining Olshan, Ms. Heil was an associate in the Litigation Department at Latham & Watkins LLP and a law clerk to the Honorable Andrew J. Peck in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Ms. Heil has been recognized as a "Future Star" in the New York litigation market in the 2009 Euromoney Benchmark Litigation Guide.


REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
• Representation of an investment bank in federal and state breach of contract and fraud actions regarding the terms and conditions of a potential borrower's merger agreement and the related financing documentation.

• Representation of a Big Four accounting firm partner throughout an SEC Wells process relating to audit work performed with regard to the complex derivatives program of a Fortune 500 company.

• Representation of a Big Four accounting firm in multiple civil actions and criminal and civil investigations relating to audit work performed for an investment bank that entered into bankruptcy.

• Representation of the leaseholder of the World Trade Center shopping mall in the property and liability insurance coverage litigation arising out of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

• Representation of the board of directors of a pharmaceutical company in criminal and civil investigations and in derivative federal and state fraud cases, based on allegations of earnings management.

• Representation of corporate and individual clients in connection with several criminal investigations into potential state and federal securities law violations relating to alleged mutual fund late trading and market timing.
