MICHAEL S. FOX

Mr. Fox is the Chairman of the firm's Business Restructuring & Bankruptcy Group. For the past 28 years, Mr. Fox's diverse experience has involved representation in all areas of financial restructuring for parties in Chapter 11 reorganization cases, out of court workouts and restructurings of troubled companies on a national basis. His clients span many industries including retail, health sciences, manufacturing, health care, food, service and consumer products. Mr. Fox's clients include distressed companies, creditors' committees, creditors, hedge funds, debt and equity security holders. He also counsels buyers and sellers of financially distressed assets and provides strategic counseling on business opportunities, the implications of transactions and enterprise structuring and financing. He has a reputation for being innovative, effective and efficient in his representations.
Mr. Fox has been selected as a Super Lawyer by the publisher of Law and Politics Magazine for 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Mr. Fox has represented clients in a wide variety of bankruptcy-related litigations. He is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association, American Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He was a founding partner of the boutique bankruptcy firm Traub Bonacquist & Fox LLP, practicing there from 1987 to 2005, when he moved his practice group to Olshan.
Mr. Fox earned his J.D. from Washington College of Law in 1982. He received his B.S. from the University of Albany in 1978, graduating suma cum laude.
