Ms. Barnea is an associate in our Employment Practices Group. She counsels and represents employers in all aspects of employment law, including wage and hour issues, discrimination and harassment issues and restrictive covenants and trade secrets. She works with employers to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment statutes, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She drafts and reviews employee handbooks and conducts audits of employers' personnel files and postings to ensure compliance with federal and state laws. Ms. Barnea also counsels clients on hiring, firing and disciplining employees, unemployment insurance claims, reductions in force and developing and revising employment practices and policies.
